Quincy

The city of Quincy, Massachusetts is truly unlike any other place you will ever visit. As the gateway to The Cultural Coast and uniquely home to one of our most significant founding fathers and two United States Presidents, John Adams and John Quincy Adams. The birthplace of John Hancock, Dorothy Quincy, Josiah Quincy, Henry Adams and many more crucial and historical figures and writers that helped to shape this great country. Quincy offers historically authentic National Park Service sites. Our city also offers an exciting and diverse multi-cultural restaurant scene, 27-miles of Atlantic coastline with various amenities and a resurgent downtown. Our Marina Bay overlooks Boston’s beautiful skyline with shopping and nightlife. New to the city is a 27-hole championship golf course, recently voted one of the top ten of its class in the nation by Golf Digest Magazine. Granite links, the highest point in Quincy with stunning views both north and south.

Once home to shipbuilding, and the granite industry with many of America's most prominent statues and monuments sculpted from granite quarried here. In fact, the first commercial railroad in America was founded in Quincy in 1826 to transport Quincy granite to Charlestown for the construction of the Bunker Hill Monument.

Nestled between the Blue Hills and Massachusetts Bay, Quincy is a beautiful city in an ultra-convenient location. Located minutes from Boston and Logan International Airport and easily accessible by both public rail and water transportation, Quincy is a great destination for the Northeast traveler. From The Marriott or Best Western hotels, you can easily visit Quincy’s many attractions, or make a day trip to Boston, The Boston Harbor Islands by ferry, Plymouth, Cape Cod, The Islands and more.

Historic attractions, miles of coastline and beaches, great hotels, a trendy restaurant scene (visit www.tastequincy.com ), chic waterfront boardwalk, recreational amenities, and our convenient location are just some of the reasons to visit “The City of Presidents.” However, Quincy’s best resource is its proud and friendly people.

You will be welcomed into our great city and encouraged to return. Come and visit “The Birthplace Of The American Dream.” www.discoverquincy.com.
